The borough of Środa Śląska The borough and town of Środa Śląska lies on the Silesian Lowland, on the left coast of Odra. The surface of this area is about 215 square km wide and 19 thousand people live here. Settlement network is created by 27 places evenly located aronud the town. The town of Środa Śląska is located on the old trade route, and has its name thanks to the fairs, which has been held every Wednesday since XIIth century. Presently Środa Śląska is a modern town with proficiently acting municipal infrastructure. It owns convenient road and railroad communication connections and also water route on Odra river. There is the Wrocław airport 29 km away from the town. The big meaning for the borough of Środa Śląska has its location in „Pan-European Corridor of Transport”, which is to provide in future strict connection of our region with Polish – German borderland. Creating one of the logistical centers out of this region is also in plans – in prospect of development of the city of Wrocław.

The borough of Kostomłoty Kostmłoty occupies the area of 146 square km and has a little over 7 thousand inhabitants. The borough is placed nearly to large city centers: Wrocław, Legnica and Świdnica at the crossroad of A-4 highway with A-5 road, in the future A-5 highway. Such location with an extended network of national and provincial ways (the lenght on the area of the borough properly 23,5 km and 92 km) is an asset causing the possibility of offering cooperation outside of the borders of the Lower-Silesian Province. The borough of Kostomłoty as the borough typically agricultural has also a chance for development of agrotourism. Landscape values – 714 ha of forests and 7 objects presenting antique garden and park foundation, availability for many sports objects and goodwill and hospitality of inhabitants are favorable.
The borough of Malczyce The borough of Malczyce is the smallest borough of Lower Silesia Province. It is consisted of nine villages, which occupy the area of 52 square km. Part of the borough is placed around Pra-valley of, which presents its northern border. From the point of view of geographic site and soil conditions Malczyce has an industrial -agricultural character. About 340 economic subjects are placed in the area of the borough and also several more important works (Shipyard „Malbo”, Corn Store Houses „Anko”, Enterprise of Paper Processing „Tultex”). The borough has 100% of water-supplies. It owns modern sewage treatment plant of effluent sand digital telephone exchange. The gasification is led here. Also investments are placed among planned directions of investing in domain of municipal economy: developing of waste, structure of sewerage, pump and gas networks.
The borough of Miękinia The borough of Miękinia is the second borough of the county as regards the population. In 28 villages there are over 10 thousand of people living. Field of the borough belongs to the oldest settlement areas in Silesia. Miękinia was mentioned in 1305 for the first time, and Brzezina in 1202. This area was under dominance of Czech kings from the end of XIVth century to half of XVIIth century. Then it presented crown goods of Austria. One of the most important battles of 7-year war happened on the fields at Lutynia on the 11 of December 1757. The result of this was the inclusion of this field into Prussian Kingdom. The borough has tender climate and fertile soils, that is good for agriculture development, especially vegetable production. The economic activity is led by nearly 600 subjects, including several significant foreign firms. Especially attractive are grounds in industrial zone localized along the national way number 94 Wrocław – Zielona Góra. The MILKS „Odra” Röben Głoska/Księgienice Club is a visiting-card of the borough, its team is a multiple champion of Poland in table tennis.
The borough of Udanin The borough of Udanin lies in the middle part of Silesian Lowland, in direct neighborhood of highway A-4. It is the least numerous borough of this administrative district. It lives in 23 villages 5 800 near, agriculture is main source of maintenance which (who). In 23 villages lives about 5800 people, their main source of maintenance is agriculture. Rural applications occupy surface of 9,612 ha, that presents 86,8% general surface of the borough. Very good and good soils predominate here, and rural production is directed on field cultivation. Good results achieved in this domain are the impulse for development of processing of cereal and plant of pasture. There are several artificial tanks of water in the area of the borough in result of infilling with water inoperative places with clay (the biggest in the area of Ujazd Górny, Piekary and Pichorowice) which present a big attraction for fishermen. One of the most important planned investments is the execution of sanitary sewerages in Konary and Damianowo.
